Adrienne + Anthony /// The Newt in Somerset

Wedding

Adrienne and Anthony contacted me a few weeks prior to their trip to the UK. They visited Somerset because they were invited to a friend's wedding and thought because they're getting married this year too, it would be a great idea to make the most out of their time and do a little practise run before their big day.

They were staying at The Newt in Somerset which is one if the most stylish and luxurious hotels in the country! I was over the moon when we agreed to shoot there! The hotel has two restaurants, a spa with sauna, salt steam room and beautiful pool leading to a heated outdoor hydrotherapy pool, as well a glass walled gym tucked away in the garden. In the main building, there are several sitting rooms and a bar that Anthony particularly enjoyed discovering.  The staff were really friendly and approachable too, they showed me around before we started the shoot. I imagined this shoot on a beautiful September day, nice overcast sky, lushes greens and stylish interior. Then, a few days before the shoot I started checking the weather forecast. Heavy rain for three days. Hurray. I was worried. I emailed Adrienne and told her that I would totally understand if they wanted to cancel because of the torrential rain, but they were happy to give it a go.

The day arrived just as the rain. The Newt was very different from how I imagined but very very beautiful. There was mist, delicious deep greens everywhere and Anthony and Adrienne were the loveliest, so we were off for a good start. We had such a lovely time together and to be honest I'm a little envy the wedding photographer who will photograph their wedding this summer.

Hi Sophia,

We’re loving our photos - so poetic and natural.  It’s a pity we can’t have you take our wedding photos.  Thank you for an unforgettable morning - the rain turned out to be a blessing in disguise.
